Every person manufacturing or importing a hazardous substance which exceeds the thresholds detailed in the HSNO Regulations are required to obtain an approval from ERMA New Zealand.
Each substance is to be classified by the individual who will also select the appropriate controls, using the details contained in the relevant Regulations.
If the substance or product is captured by HSNO, the manufacturer or importer should check the relevant listings in the Approved Substances section of this site to confirm the substance has previously been approved or transferred.
