This section seeks to provide an industry perspective on the HSNO Act 1996 and the challenges we face in ensuring this complex legislation is implemented smoothly and cost effectively.

We do not intend to duplicate the detailed explanatory material found on the Ministry for the Environment (www.mfe.govt.nz) or ERMA New Zealand (www.ermanz.govt.nz) and (www.hsno.govt.nz).

HSNO Regulations Now Available

Those eager to obtain their own copy of the long awaited Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Regulations 2001/111 - 124 inclusive, can obtain a set (14 regulations) from bookshops specializing in Government publications ($55.30 + GST), or the NZCIC Secretariat ($67.00 including postage).
