Proposed Approved Code of Practice under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996
MANAGING HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES AND DANGEROUS GOODS IN THE WORKPLACE (DRAFT) OCTOBER 2004
Introduction:
An Approved Code of Practice provides a means of meeting HSNO regulatory requirements and together with Best Practice, is intended to eliminate or minimise the risk associated with the management of Hazardous Substances.
This Code of Practice is the fifth of a suite being developed to facilitate compliance with the new Hazardous Substances Regulations by implementing regulatory and voluntary measures which are universally applicable. The Code represents a means of ensuring prescribed information about Hazardous Substances is quickly and accurately conveyed to employees, the public and the Emergency Services, via the label.
